Fontbonne Ministries has partnered with CanadaHelps, a not-for-profit charity portal that provides an easy to use on-line donation service. You can make a one-time donation or arrange for monthly gifts, which can be automatically charged to your credit card. VISA, MasterCard, American Express and PayPal transactions are accepted.
Click here to donate now, and simply follow the instructions. You can choose to donate to our general fund, or select a specific ministry to support. Thank you!
All information you enter is strictly confidential and securely protected, and only provided to Fontbonne Ministries. Donations made through CanadaHelps.org are treated the same way as a regular receiptable donation. You will receive an e-mail response confirming your transaction, usually within minutes. CanadaHelps is a registered charity, and while "CanadaHelps.org" or "CH.org" will appear on your statement and tax receipt, be assured the funds will be transferred directly to Fontbonne Ministries.
Please make your cheque payable to "Fontbonne Ministries" and mail it to:
101 Thorncliffe Park Dr
Toronto ON M4H 1M2
An In Memoriam Gift allows you to offer your sympathy to those who have lost a loved one, and your donation will be acknowledged to the bereaved family without disclosing the amount of your gift. (When donating on-line, select "In memory of..." to designate your In Memoriam Gift.)
A Living Gift to Fontbonne Ministries offers you the opportunity to honour someone by making a donation to Fontbonne Ministries in their name, providing a thoughtful tribute while offering dignity and hope to someone in need. (When donating on-line, select "In honour of..." to designate your Living Gift.)
Planned giving is a method of giving made through your will or life insurance policy. It allows you to make a lasting gift while optimizing tax and other financial benefits. Legacy gifts can be gifts such as bequests, life insurance policies, charitable remainder trusts, gifts of residual interests, and gifts of property and RRSP's where the commitment is made now but the funds are not available to Fontbonne Ministries until sometime in the future. The Archdiocese of Toronto also maintains a list of advisors who are available to assist in your estate planning and the preparation of a Will. Please contact us if you require assistance with your planning.
A gift of publicly traded securities "in kind" provides you with an unexpected means to make a significant contribution to Fontbonne Ministries at a relatively low cost. Recent changes by the Canadian Federal Government to the tax on gifts of securities means that by making a gift of equities, bonds and mutual funds to Fontbonne Ministries, your taxable capital gain is eliminated.
Fontbonne Ministries will issue a charitable tax receipt for the fair market value of the gift of securities to be used for tax purposes. This value will be the closing price of the securities on the date they are received.
You can give the gift of securities either during your lifetime or through your estate and receive the same benefit from a tax point of view. You are able to carry forward any donation amount that exceeds your eligible annual tax credit limit for a period of 5 years.
If you have any questions about the various ways that you can donate or would like further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
Fontbonne Ministries offers diverse programs that are welcoming and inclusive. The charity was founded in 2000 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto, a community of women who, through their compassionate presence, respond to various needs. Fontbonne Ministries continues, with the Sisters, their mission of reflecting the love of God and neighbour.
