Village Mosaic offers a welcoming gathering place in South Etobicoke for seniors to come together in a wide variety of programs. Located at 2794 Lake Shore Boulevard West, we invite you to join us in forming a community where you can make connections, establish new relationships, and share your interests.
There’s so many things you can do. So many people live alone so it’s worth it even just for conversation. — a visitor
Our focus is on relationship building, and we hope to give you the opportunity to engage in meaningful experiences to activate your mind, body and spirit in a variety of ways. Journey along with us as we celebrate the seasons and holidays, and take part in our many programs and events. You may even be inspired to initiate and deliver your own programs to others when you’re here.
The centre is just so warm and friendly and it doesn’t matter what race or religion you have. — a visitor

A Village Mosaic Story
Village Mosaic offers me friendship, happiness, and a place I am privileged to visit. — Irene, participant & volunteer
When Irene retired, she was eager to pursue new interests and friends. When friends recommended Village Mosaic to Irene, she volunteered to organize the well-used library. “This is the best thing for older adults in the Lakeshore area—a welcoming place to pursue activities we love.”
Irene also enjoys the regular companionship, exercise programs, and the chance to “care and give back to others.” In the past 12 months, seniors at Village Mosaic wove two large sleeping mats from recycled milk bags. They also knit blankets, hats and vests for children with pneumonia in underdeveloped countries, later distributed by Dr. Andrew Simone through Canadian Food for Children.
Participation grew in almost all of the Village Mosaic programs including an overall increase in client visits. Exercise programs and a weekly Wednesday social complete with line-dancing, sing-alongs and themed celebrations, continue to be the most popular offerings.

How Village Mosaic Came to Be
In 2009, Fontbonne Ministries created Village Mosaic to serve the needs of seniors, especially those who have lost their contacts or feel isolated.
Fontbonne Ministries offers diverse programs that are welcoming and inclusive. The charity was founded in 2000 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto, a community of women who, through their compassionate presence, respond to various needs. Fontbonne Ministries continues, with the Sisters, their mission of reflecting the love of God and neighbour.
